Overview
The Sheet Metal CAD Designer is responsible for creating accurate 2D and 3D designs of sheet metal components and assemblies using CAD software. This role involves preparing detailed drawings, ensuring manufacturability, and collaborating with production teams to deliver high-quality sheet metal products.
Key Responsibilities
CAD Design – Develop 2D drawings and 3D models of sheet metal parts and assemblies.
Material Selection – Apply knowledge of sheet metal properties to ensure durability and cost-effectiveness.
Design Standards – Ensure compliance with industry standards, tolerances, and safety requirements.
Documentation – Prepare technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and specifications for manufacturing.
Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to resolve design issues.
Optimization – Suggest improvements for manufacturability, cost reduction, and performance.
Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (cutting, bending, stamping, welding).
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Experience: 1 - 3 Years
Job Location: Peenya Industrial Area, Bangalore, Karnataka
Salary: 25000 to 35000
